Shared Solitude

2023-Present

In material there is spirit, which is transforming on personal and artistic levels. The arrangement of materials creates stories, which shape our daily practices and create earnest impacts. Many times, we as humans centralize ourselves not as animals but as something “greater than,” creating a human dominance over the animal world. The longer this narrative is held true, we forget the connections and care that can be found within the natural world, causing intense violence. Witch hunts, the strategic subjection of women and other minorities to further the installation of capitalism through torture and death, are a prime example of this. Although, if we rethink this narrative through social representation, we can find shared solitude and peace within the space that all living beings share. Utilizing methods of performance art, painting, sculpture, the results are self-imagining time machines that inspire futures of serenity and freedom.
